30th December

This is one of the animations my classmates introduced to me called "The Beauty on the Pen Point." The author uses the ink painting style to carry on the painting creation, each frame character's dynamic and the background music is very close. Figure painting lifelike, the characters of each joint, clothing folds follow the dancer's dynamic transformation is very vivid. After I finished reading, I thought about how I finished my own animation in a month's limited time.

The red turtle this is another cartoon introduced to me by my classmates. The painting style is very soft and the color makes me feel very melancholy and charming. A bit of fantastical content and thought-provoking.

This time to do animation, the content of the story is hope, I can upgrade a height, explore myself I do not know. A vulture appeared in my dream, and he was a sacred animal in China's Tibet, because the influence of Buddhism on the funeral customs in Tibet was great. In Buddhism," giving "is the principle of believers, there are many kinds of giving, giving is also a kind of giving, so there is a custom called bird burial, which is also a very common one. Tibetans believe that vultures on the mountain around the celestial burial platform do not harm any small animals except eating human carcasses, and are "god birds." The body of the vulture has never been seen, which gives the vulture itself a magical charm, a mystical color and a cult. The reason why Tibetans chose vultures. After the interpretation of Buddhist doctrine, Tibetans with simple materialism more advocate the soul, look at the body. feeding the body to the eagle, complete silence, as a meritorious service, as the foundation of soul reincarnation. Some even think that vultures around the celestial burial platform are the embodiment of the bhikkhu, with the magic of the gods. But fundamentally, the concept of soul reincarnation has permeated every Tibetan view of life and death. If one dies and the body does not disappear, then the dead soul may be attached to the original body and thus cannot be reincarnated. This is contrary to the desire of the dead and their relatives for early reincarnation, and does not conform to the Buddhist theory of six reincarnations. Unlike other eagles, vultures never eat living things, but only dead ones, which is why the Tibetans admire it and choose it. There is also a reason to be valued for bringing the body back to the "wind" of the four elements of the world. Let vultures come to heaven to bury, also symbolize the intention of returning to nature.

ARTIST RESEARCH

ALLISON SCHULNIK

Her works are represented by clay sculptures, which look very strange but very beautiful. I was thinking about how I could make my video in a limited amount of time in a month. Maybe that's a very good form. Because it is believed that the artists themselves created the theme, very similar to the dream. Maybe I can try this form too.

STACEY STEERS

There's a weird feeling about her work. The giddy image synthesis is one of the most important manifestations of her work. She showed the video in clip form, which also provided me with a new idea of how to finish the work efficiently. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOLSkFx7ARM&t=5s

SIMONE MASSI

Its work and the expression of my work are very similar, are expressed in the sense of the line. But some of Simone's work is colored, not black and white. He first painted a colored oil painting stick on a piece of white paper, then painted a black oil painting stick, and finally carved it. This gives me ideas about how to paint my work.

Story-Content

Reality: I graduated from a primary school far away from home to study in a junior high school in my city.Being closer to home means that it is closer to mother's jurisdiction, I fell into a more deteriorating condition. I was very unhappy and even behaved badly at the school first because of restrictions from my parents.

Dreamland: The principal of the primary school was a grandmother ,whose husband was dead. At that time, I was attending the summer camp. We went to the zoo. I walked over a swaying cable bridge. I was scared. After passing the cable bridge, I walked into a cold cave from a hot outdoor. The stone in the cave was not smooth. , bumpy and liquid on the wall. I suddenly saw a frozen vulture, hairless, and wrapped in ice.

Research Pipilotti Rist

This is the artist introduced by tutor in the workshop.

This is her first feature film, Pepperminta. She summarized the plot as "a young woman and her friends on a quest to find the right color combinations and with these colors they can free other people from fear and make life better.”I like her artistic expression, video editing and secondary processing. The color of the video is very maiden, the content is imaginative.

28th Jan Group Crit

The group crit was very inspirational.I told Jennifer and my group of students about my thoughts. I am currently working on a video. I will use the video to show the real part of the video and I will use the illustration to show the imaginary part. I also go to the workshop to borrow a green screen and make a video of a ghost animal. Make my video more magical. However, I know my hand-drawing ability is better, so I said that I will still focus on my hand-drawing in the future. Jennifer said that I can express abstract things in a simple way. I think it's worth my thinking.

11th Feb Group Crit and Tutorial with Ania Bas

In today's group discussion, I told my teacher that I would make a video, but I was so confused that I could not finish it. Luckily, Ania Bas gave me a piece of advice and showed me Sarah Taylor's work. I got inspiration from her work. I can take the most interesting and important pieces of my work, make them, and then express them as a scene art.
